Quick start

01

Create your account

Choose Create account with a new email. Every account created during the early-adopter period receives free lifetime platform access. Returning users choose Sign in to open the workspace already connected to their email.

02

Describe your company

Add the services you sell, the buyers you help, and the kinds of companies you want Signals to research.

03

Connect your OpenAI API key

Signals validates the key and stores it securely. Assessments use your OpenAI API account.

04

Start an assessment

Select Start Assessment, review the two-hour and five-result limits, and follow the live research activity.

05

Review every brief

Open every result, inspect its evidence, and record Approve, Needs research, or Reject before starting another assessment.

Your workspace

Account and company profile

Your company profile is the matching lens for every assessment. Signals uses it to decide whether a possible project fits the services you actually sell. Specific profiles produce more useful results than broad descriptions such as “we do technology.”

Include useful detailDescribe service lines, delivery strengths, target industries, buyer roles, geography, clear exclusions, and the annual-revenue range of the companies you prefer to pursue. The default is $5M–$100M.

The company-size range guides discovery rather than adding another qualification rule. Signals searches that range first, uses sourced employee count or operating scale when revenue is not public, and widens gradually later in an incomplete assessment.

You can return to Company profile from the signed-in navigation. Changes affect future research; they do not rewrite briefs already saved.

Bring your own key

OpenAI API key

Every user who creates an account during the early-adopter period receives free lifetime access to the Maisy Signals platform. Research is performed through your own OpenAI API account, and you are responsible for that separate OpenAI usage. A ChatGPT subscription does not include API usage.

  1. Create an API key in your OpenAI Platform account.
  2. Make sure API billing or credits are available on that account.
  3. Paste the key into Step 2 of Maisy Signals setup and select Validate and save key.
How the key is handledThe key is validated with OpenAI, encrypted in Supabase Vault, and never returned to your browser after it is saved. After setup, select API Key in the Opportunities navigation to see the connected key's final four characters, validate and replace it, or remove it. Only the workspace owner can change the key.
After the early-adopter offerThe planned introductory price for new accounts is $99 per month. Early-adopter accounts keep their free lifetime platform access.

Research workflow

Run an assessment

Select Start Assessment from the desk. A confirmation explains that the assessment runs for up to two hours or until it finds five qualified opportunities, whichever comes first. You can leave the page while it runs; Maisy emails you when the results are ready.

The control turns lime while research is running and shows the assessment status. Select Stop Assessment if you need to end the run. Maisy will clearly mark the run as stopped early and prepare the strongest qualified or Best available results from only the candidates researched before it stopped.

Review is part of the assessmentYou must review every outstanding result before starting another assessment. Each rating and decision helps refine the model.

Every assessment searches a fresh set of companies matched to your profile. Companies assessed in the prior 90 days are skipped unless materially new evidence makes another look worthwhile.

Before the run

Confirm the assessment window and make sure your company profile reflects the services, markets, and buyers you want to pursue.

After the run

Open and review every result. If fewer than five appear, adjust your profile to broaden the next fresh search without weakening qualification standards.

What the numbers mean

Scores, gates, and result labels

Opportunity Strength is scored from 0 to 100. Higher scores indicate a stronger visible business case. The score helps prioritize which results deserve review; it is not the probability that a company will buy.

Score is only one part of the decisionA high score does not make a company qualified by itself. Evidence, fit, timing, available work, buyer access, and human review still matter.

Maisy does not publish its proprietary weighting, research instructions, or internal decision methodology.

Qualified opportunity
Meets the score floor and every required evidence, fit, timing, work, buyer, and contact gate.
Best available · validation required
The strongest researched candidate when no result fully qualifies. It may still be missing service fit, trigger, account-conflict, contact, or other required evidence. Every validation gap and the next validation question are shown clearly; it is never counted as qualified.
Excluded candidate
Failed one or more requirements. The run audit retains the reason instead of presenting it as a lead.

The sales report

Read an opportunity brief

Briefs are grouped by assessment date and time on the desk. Open a brief to see the opportunity story, likely service fit, relevant people, a suggested opening, first-call questions, timing, risks, and links to the underlying public evidence.

1 · Understand

Read why this company, why now, and what project may exist.

2 · Verify

Open the material sources and check the facts that could change the decision.

3 · Prepare

Use the contact plan and questions to plan your own outreach.

The expandable Model audit contains the evidence ledger, commercial gates, 12-signal coverage, and score breakdown. The Download sales PDF link saves the brief as a three-page report without rerunning research.

Human quality gate

Review a lead

At the bottom of each brief, rate the lead from 1 to 5 and record one decision:

Approve
The opportunity is commercially useful. Approval requires checked evidence and a Clear account-conflict result.
Needs research
The thesis may be useful but a specific decision-changing fact is missing. Add the reason.
Reject
The account should not be pursued. Add the specific reason; rejection blocks the account until it is cleared.

Your review updates the desk’s quality rate and helps distinguish model output from opportunities your team would actually pursue.

Common fixes

Troubleshooting

My email sign-in link does not work.

Request a fresh link and open it in the same browser where you started sign-in. Email links expire and may fail after they have already been used.

Why did Create account recognize an existing workspace?

An email can identify only one Maisy Signals user. Choose Sign in to open that email's existing workspace, or use a different email to create a separate customer account.

My OpenAI key is rejected.

Create a current API key, confirm that API billing or credits are available, and paste the complete key without spaces. A ChatGPT subscription by itself is not API credit.

The assessment returned fewer than five results.

Open and review the results you received, then edit your company profile if you want a broader next search. Consider industries, geographies, services, buyer roles, preferred company-revenue range, engagement range, and exclusions. Every new assessment searches fresh companies.

The run stopped before five results.

An assessment stops after two hours even when it has not reached five qualified opportunities. A manual stop is clearly marked as an early stop. If at least one candidate was researched, the results show the strongest qualified or Best available candidates based only on the research completed before that stop, with every validation gap preserved.

Why did a high-scoring company fail?

The score is only one requirement. A company can score highly and still fail because evidence, timing, available work, client fit, buyer, or contact coverage is missing.
